My impact is
The Light I give
Living the Golden Rule.

WOMAN OF IMPACT

I am thriving
And writing
And being whole

My re-wiring
Is firing
Up my soul

Thanks I give
For how I live
With my heart full

My impact is
The Light I give
Living the Golden Rule.

From Head to Heart —

Do you struggle with uncertainty over whether you can trust God?

Does doubt hold you back?

Do you sometimes feel frustrated with or abandoned by Him because of the challenges you face?

Do you long for beauty, but know not where to find it amidst the chaos that may surround you?

YOU ARE NOT ALONE

I have shared these struggles through depression, traumatic brain injury, anxiety, ADHD, marital strain, and infant loss.

In my experience, the challenges that we face are opportunities, where possible, to turn weakness to strength. Many look different places for sources of strength. I want my words to be one source for you. By sharing my verse and journey with you, I invite you to find strength and beauty here and perhaps some relief from your struggle.

You see, for me, poetry is an emotional outlet. It brings me clarity. I pray that my poems give voice to your emotions and a beautiful release from the mundane. I want to encourage you, whether you believe it or not, that God has got your back. And that with grace, gratitude, and a gentle heart, while your struggle may not abate, you will endure. And I hope that you find your hope in order to heal. I am rooting for you.

Worry Wrack

Anxiety is a hat we wear

Anxiety is a hat that we choose to wear. When we don it, our anxiety “protects” us from the “what-if’s” that lie ahead. It protects us with a wrapper of worry. That protection, that hat, fits snuggly and makes us sweat. (Hence the sweat band.) But what if we make a different choice and choose to hang that anxiety hat on our mental hat rack—our Worry Wrack? Could we then be free to face those dreaded what-if’s? Could we find that we are capable of meeting them head on and enduring whatever might come our way? Could we find that God has our back?

And in that space of light and clear

We push back the veil of intrepid fear

And say the words we long to hear:

“I am so very glad you are here; where you go I draw near.”
